O.liv's DIY Tennessee Mud Lounge, is a unique full sensory experience housed in one chamber comprised of three areas: a "Mud Room" where you are supplied organic muds to slather over your body, a "Steam Room" where you bask in a cloud of lavender steam, and then a "Clean Room" where you cleanse and shower at the end of treatment.


Perfect for a solo or couples experience, or unwind with a group up to four guests. We'll provide disposable undergarments, or feel free to bring your bathing suit or go commando.

ENTER THE MUD LOUNGE | The Process

  • Step One: Our Mud Scrubs | Our Mud Room

    All O.liv muds and body scrubs have different healing properties, each possessing different earth and botanical formulas for our muds, fine-grained earth is used on sensitive skin areas. Earth that is fine-grained yet different in herbal and botanical formula is used on the arms, stomach and chest. 


    Medium-grained mud is used on the arms, as well as the legs and back. The muds and scrubs are used to cleanse, exfoliate, absorb toxins, increase circulation and soften skin. During the treatment’s first stage, you will get undressed and slip into something comfortable.

  • Step Two: Herbs & Steam | Our Steam Room

    In the next stage, you enter a chamber and relax in an herb-infused steam. The temperature in the chamber is kept warm, up to 120 degrees Fahrenheit. If you want a quick cool-down, we have a rainforest mist that you control that gently disperses a rain shower. You can stay in the chamber for 40 minutes where you apply a selection of three products, two muds and a scrub to various areas of the body in a thin layer.


    We recommend first to relax in the heat for some time before applying product. Once your body temperature has risen, we encourage you to massage the scrub onto your body using a circular motion. This helps to exfoliate dead skin cells, eliminate toxins and open your pores. Next we suggest cooling your body temperature with the cold rain shower. After cooling off and body temperature rise again, we encourage you to massage the mud on your body using a circular motion and periodically cooling off with a cold rain shower.

  • Step Three: Wash Under a Soothing Shower | The Clean Room

    After up to 40 minutes in the herbal steam, you step into the shower. This cleansing shower needs to remove as much mud as possible before you leave the chamber. We recommend rehydrating your skin by applying body oil or lotion and don’t forget to drink H2O.

  • Afterwards

    Upon leaving the Mud Lounge, you should rest for about 20 minutes, moisturize with our organic body smoother and drink plenty of water.

About our muds

We have developed a variety mud formulas from Red Rhassoul Clay, Green Italian Clay, and French Pink Clay.

  • RED Carpet Moroccan Rhassoul Clay

    A truly exquisite spa quality clay from ancient deposits unearthed from the fertile Atlas Mountains in Morocco. This mineral rich clay blends extremely well with water making its application to the face and skin a smooth and delightful experience. This clay has been used for over 1400 years as a soap, shampoo, and skin conditioner, and the finest spas across the world currently utilize it for its therapeutic benefits.


    This clay is quarry mined from deep beneath the Atlas Mountains in Eastern Morocco. It is sun dried and untreated. When first mined, Rhassoul clay appears as a polished brown, soap-like clay, which is chunky in appearance and resembling rocks. After further refinement and micronization, the end product is a smooth almost silken earth.


    As Rhassoul is considered to contain higher percentages of silica and magnesium than other clays, it is thought to be far more effective. Also, due to its greater ability to swell with the addition of water, Rhassoul achieves better results in skin treatment.


    We've used Moroccan red clay for sensitive skin with traces of (all Organic) Rosemary, Peppermint, Clary Sage, Tarragon, Tea Tree and  Eucalyptus.

  • Going Green Italian Clay

    Our Italian Green clay has enormous absorbent powers due to the constitution of its micro molecules. It literally “drinks” oils, toxic substances, and impurities from your skin. Its toning action stimulates the skin by bringing fresh blood to skin cells. Italian Green clay is great for helping to clear occasional skin blemishes.


    Italian Green Clay is sometimes called Sea Clay and is by far one of the most majestic, most effective, and most commonly used mineral skin clays found in the world. It contains a cornucopia of valuable elements. Green clay owes its coloration to two very important factors: iron oxide and decomposed plant matter. That’s right, the natural green tones found in this luxurious clay are from the very cycles of life that the earth uses to regenerate herself. 


    Unlike other clays where key elements work in symbiosis off of each other, Italian Green clay contains several elements which act as their own “body,” meaning that each element is responsible for working the outer epidermis in its own way and in dispensing their biological constituents as best as possible.


    Our green clay has traces of (all Organic) Lemongrass, Sweet Orange and  Citronella.xt stage, you enter a chamber and relax in an herb-infused steam. The temperature in the chamber is kept warm, up to 120 degrees Fahrenheit. If you want a quick cool-down, we have a rainforest mist that you control that gently disperses a rain shower. 


    You stay in the chamber for 20 minutes and allow the mud to dry. As it dries, we encourage you to massage the mud on your body using a circular motion. This helps to exfoliate dead skin cells and to eliminate toxins.

  • Tickled PINK French Clay

    French Pink Clay is a combination of red and white clays. It is considered to be the mildest of all the clays and works well for normal, sensitive and mature skin types. Its unique composition includes Kaolinite, Iron, Illite, Montmorillonite and Calcite. 


    French Pink Clay can be used to cleanse and detoxify the skin, remove dead skin cells and create and overall refreshed appearance. It can also be used to treat acne and other skin ailments; poor blood and/or lymph circulation and sun damaged skin.


    Developed as an all-over body mud with traces of (all Organic) Sweet Orange, Lavender, Rosemary and Chamomile.
